Too Much Picture Editing!

I was informed by my friend that he send me a copy of a book through his friend that visits Singapore. So I asked him what does his friend looks like. He gave me a link of a facebook account. So when husband and I reached the place, I kept on looking around the area and keeping an eye for people with blue shirts. One lady came to us and greeted us. She is the girl we are looking for. She handed us the book and bid goodbye. Her picture and herself in reality looks totally different. What's up with the people using too much picture editing for their photos? Now! Picture Paints a Thousand ‘Lies'! Tsk! Have you known someome that looks totally different in person and on their public posted photos in social media sites?

I never photoshop my pictures . If i don't like it , i won't post it but not photoshop it . I would rather be not pretty in my profile picture than they see me in real life as pretty , rather than the other way around .

Gosh! If you could only see some of the photos in facebook using camera360 app. haha.. my husband says, when he spotted one, "they might as well to erase the whole face". Hehe.

@wiLLmaH Funny how some people can be so imaginative of a much more beautiful face . They are not true themselves and they don't know that they are being laughed at by those who truly know how they look in person .

Well, I will not understand that. Moreover, I thought the picture we show in Facebook should be the real us, as we are showing the picture to our friends in Facebook. Perhaps I am wrong or I am too old fashioned. Glad that she managed to recognize you.

@wiLLmaH I do not have many young friends in Facebook or real life, so I have no idea about this. I have seen my husband's cousin who is still a high school student like to post funny or ugly faces of herself in profile picture. I wonder if it's the trend of the youngsters now.

I am astounded that she just approached me and a biq questioning tone when I am saying her name. Maybe getting the face make-over before posting in the social media sites now is a must for youngsters.

@kaka135 Actually even at the range of my age, some people need to edit it first before posting it. haha! Someone always approaching me just to hit the "like" button on her photos. As if there is a price for most like pictures in facebook haha!

I've only met one person that I only knew by her photo and she was just the same. And also every bit as nice as I expected.

That is good. Maybe one of few people who do not do an editing at all. Winner of confidence.

what you see in my pictures is the real me. I do not mind taken in my ugliest face, whether I frown, smile or laugh, that is me.

I have found that true for lots of people. Most people seem to post old pictures of them when they were younger. When I was in my 20's and signed up on a few dating sites I was caught off guard once or twice when I met the person in the flesh.

They can certainly be appealling but not true to life Wilmah.

You bet. I hope people will stop over-editing the photos. Actually now, they are editing even the body figures.

I agree, when you meet people in person you cannot even recognize them.

Most people I know look like their pictures, but I have seen people who used pictures that were about 20 years old!

Maybe this is just for youths today. They are editing photos on their facebook to garner likes and comments.
