I do love to take macro photographs. A friend of mine excels at taking macros of bugs. When I first saw her photo I was amazed. She is a master. Her photos inspired me to give macro shots of any kind a try, but especially her bug shots. One day sitting on my boat among the lily pads the dragonflies were in abundance. They are a gentle creature, never bother anyone and just like to sit a while. Many times they will sit on my fishing pole or even my bobber. This one liked sitting on an unopened bud of a lily pad flower. When I got home I was amazed at how a dragonfly really looks. In his face he looks like an Alien from another planet.

I love the picture. You can see what looks like hair around the body. You can even see the veins in the wings.

Between the pool and the pond we have hundreds of dragon flies, I've never tried to photograph them since I don't usually have my camera in the pool with me.
