I didn't expect any Christmas gifts under the tree this year.

We are all struggling financially and the girls really don't require anything. I have been staring at a tree all week that had absolutely nothing underneath it. When I mentioned it to my daughter on the phone when she was at university she said, "That's because they're all here." I laughed at that but the first thing she did when she got home yesterday was wrap all the gifts she bought and put them under the tree, and she wrapped a few for me as well. Look at all the gifts under the tree now! And I can hear my hubby upstairs wrapping presents. I guess I should wrap the few I have. I still have to do that and make some sweets, and then our Christmas dinner tomorrow. I really should get off the computer. So happy to have my daughter home. She is so funny and brings such joy and laughter to the house. And presents too! Merry Christmas everyone!

Wonderful that her tree does not look so forlorn now with the presents under it, enjoy. @marlina

@Marcyaz Even more gifts have been added since hubby did his wrapping. I just went to move them around a bit and saw one that was addressed to him from Santa in his handwriting. What has he done now?

What a wonderful daughter you have to buy the presents home to put under the tree and make your Christmas so much nicer. Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all there.

She also helped me out with Christmas baking today, and washed some dishes. She is used to doing that stuff for herself at her home away from home so she had no problem doing it here. Unlike her older sister.

@patgalca She sounds like the good daughter to help you with the baking and dishes. Too bad her older sister is not like that.

We don't put the presents out until after the kids go to sleep on Christmas Eve, but I"ve still got a few young ones. This year worked out pretty well for us. The kids should be happy. But I've had plenty of years where I wasn't sure we'd have a Christmas.

I didn't when the kids were younger. Actually, this is the first year I put all the gifts under the tree tonight. The only thing I will put out on Christmas Eve is the stockings.

This is so wonderful. I don't have my own tree this year because I am not home. but normally under my tree is only gifts for my God daughter, nieces and nephews. I don't do a lot for others because that isn't the tradition here. The other stuff I bought was already delivered to the people via Fed Ex or US postal service. So sort of looks like I have a very sad tree this year with nothing under it at all.

I think it's weird for everybody. It just hasn't felt like it weather wise. We're going to have pretty balmy weather the next couple of days.

I loved having my kids together. My daughter and her kids stayed here, but we got together with the others as well.

We have a couple of stacks of presents on a couple of tables but not under the tree cause of fur person traffic. Mom made a little odd remark once about one little stack that made me wonder if she knew exactly what they were all about.
