myLot is a friendly place?

For the most part I've seen that people on myLot are nice. But, as always, there are those few people that make me think otherwise. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there's also a thing called "feelings." People just shouldn't say things that might hurt someone else's feelings. It doesn't matter if they're a stranger or someone close to you.
Sometimes I have to realize that people who say rude things to me don't really have anything against me. Maybe they're just sad people in general. Maybe they have something going on in their lives and it feels good for them to type something rude to someone on the internet. Whatever the case, people need to practice being nice at all times. The people you interact with will feel better and you'll feel better about yourself. Please stay positive people!!

I think sometimes words sound more harsh when you read them, but honestly you will find sour apples an many sites. I try not to take it personal, as this is just the online world.

its really friendly place because here i can share my problems,feelings or anything with my friend and i am glad that they reply positive and same i do on their post.sometimes we are in not mood so sometimes bad thing written but it not mean we not care,i always feel that this like my family and i like to spend time here.

There is no denying that being offensive is unjustified, but some statements or comments can be misunderstood at times. Sarcastic comments among friends is commonplace here in England, but rarely intended to be serious.
Such comments are usually quite easy to identify with speech due to the inflection or manner of presentation, whereas putting the same in writing can be harder to achieve.

MyLot is a wonderful site with great people. But remember, there will always be some undesirables on any site like this. Some people just have bad attitudes. Some are just plain nasty. Forget them, or block them. No need to deal with those kinds of people. All in all, MyLot is the best site on the internet as far as I am concerned.

Unfortunately, there are mean people everywhere in life. But there are mostly good people here. The ones that are not so nice I just try to ignore them and go on about my life.

Also, bear in mind that we cannot see their faces or hear their voices when they say sharp things. Some things do not translate well. I hope you do not get too many comments and responses that sound harsh. I still think it is a friendly space. I have been on the receiving end a few times and had to learn that MOSTLY you do not take things personally, unless they throw words around like stupid and old lady.

Positivity is not something some people strive for. As you say it is just not personal, but in their nature to be so negative.

Regardless of my number, I actually had my first account here shortly after MyLot started and was here for years, so I have seen some really mean people, but like real life, there are really nice people and those in between.
The rule is, we can voice our opinion, but we are not allowed to be mean or make threats. If you are threatened and or someone is really getting mean, you can report them to the admin.

hi@Carmelanrel2 yes I remember one who tore into me and called me an old hag. the admins back thendid not appreciate his meanness and deleted his account. most all were nice tenand are nice now too includinCarmela too lol

I agree with the Grinch below me, I think the majority are fun, kind and are good people to know. Occasionally you will find a rotten apple in the bushel of mylot but don't let it get you down. Ignore them.

I always stay positive and if people say things rudely to me I try not to take offense to it. There our good and bad people on here but it's like that all over the internet.

Positive is always better than negative but you are so right sometimes a person can have one crazy and bad hair day. 
I don't believe in all rosy coloured glasses. If there is something wrong it is always better to voice it in a reasonable way to the person you may be having difficulty with?

@Kaygreen1913 Generally myLot is a nice place with positive people.But there are some who just think that it is cool to be negative. We just have to ignore them.I wish you and family a Merry Christmas.

@jaboUK (9650) I think some of the misunderstands is due to different langue comprehending for those don't have fluent English,like me. Another reason is that we just type the words in front the screen and communicate with each other without seeing each other's mood on face. 
Btw,my company delay the shift work due to the heavy haze in China and the helicopter can't take off. So we have one more free day.
