A Little Depressed This Christmas

This is the first Christmas where we've been unable to go home to be with our family, so both my husband and I are a bit depressed this year. We've tried to plan a full day so we don't sit around moping. He is an amazing cook and has everything ready for our dinner tonight. After church, we're going to go to see Star Wars. Then, we're planning on doing some Skype calls so we can see everyone. While we're very sad not to be with them, we are so fortunate to be able to Skype with them later on.

There is no need to feel sad. I think your family is assured that you are safe and sound, instead of worrying about the road condition and the time taken for you to meet them.

Yes they are! And it's good to see you here! I remember you from Bubblews. I keep trying to reconnect here, but kept getting busy with other projects. I'm making a point to visit this site more in 2016.

It was an odd Christmas for us. Really hard to get into the mood. Nice to see you here. Another familiar name from Bubblews.

I'm sorry to read that! I hope you're feeling relieved that it's all over. I know I am! And it's good to see you here too. I've set a goal for myself this year to try and catch up with BWS names :)

I had to work this year and did not make the trip to see my daughter. I know they think of me and I them. But with Skype or face time we can still see them and they do feel closer to us. It will all work out and you will have a wonderful time together. Enjoy your holiday and know your family still loves you both.

Yes, I can see why you feel this way. But it is good you are planning other things, and not thinking about it.

I have a tendency towards moping, so I try to plan things so I don't fall into it.

It's a shame that you won't be with your family. But it's good that you have some things planned.

Thank you so much! I can't say it was great, being so far away from family, but we did have a very enjoyable day nevertheless.
