Packing Packets

I find myself doing a little spring cleaning today - There was a smell under my kitchen sink where i keep my onions and potatoes, and yes a few days ago i discovered a very rotten potato that my hubby had not smelt while we were away. The smell is lingering - so i am CLEANING. In SA we get plastic bags at the check-out of a supermarket. I have collected hundreds as recycling is a slow process here. However I do use them for my kitchen dustbin which saves me from buying Bin Liners. Today I am folding these packets to store in the packet decanter as they were strewn all over the sink (which is also called a zinc) cupboard. This is an easy way to keep them organised for re-use. Do you know how to fold them to the triangle size? My youngest daughter asked me "mom . . . are you bored?" Quite frankly - YES! Do you get stuck into strange cleaning spree's when you are bored?

@inlemay Folding those bags seems to me to be as pointless as ironing underwear! Or ironing anything.

@Inlemay I just squash them in a ball and stuff them in a cloth bag. I don't think they'd take much room whichever way you did it.

The smell of rotten potatoes is horrible. When I am bored, I get out my colors and the easel and I paint.

@Inlemay Usually husband disrupts me, I cannot understand why he always needs my help while I am relaxing doing my favorite hobbies.

I used to flatten and fold them and place them into carrier bags, although these days I seem to be running out of them.

I thought you had typo'd sink to zinc, but you repeated it, so now I wonder is it a thing?

I have been folding my bags that way for a number of years. It sure does keep them tamed compared to just shoving them in a drawer.

I have come to enjoy the quick pleasure of folding my packets and keeping order - not a boredom phase at all anymore

@Inlemay no boredom involved, just trying to stay on top of the mess.

I clean more when I'm angry. When I'm bored I play on the internet too much to try and find entertainment I've never thought of folding my plastic bags. We have them stuffed all messy into a tiny counter to the side of our stove. My mother in law has a special cloth bag made for holding plastic bags to store them.

I usually manage to find something to do on the computer when I'm bored. I use these bags too as bin liners. Rotten potato has a dreadful smell.

I do not sit and fold the bags. I try to only collect enough for the garbage and remember my reusable bags most of the time.

That is the part I hate to clean up too. Sometimes the onions rot, and the stink is horrible. That is the time when I really have to clean up, and to re-organize the whole area under the kitchen sink.

Never! I never clean when bored, anything but cleaning is OK and now I'm laughing at @xFiacre ironing is another thing I need to be forced to do. (and never underwear) Thanks for the laugh.
