I am setting myself a little goal that is very important to me. It goes something like this - Within the next month I will be writing more on MyLot and drinking less coffee. Did you noticed that I didn't say how much more writing and how much less drinking? This way for the next month I can concentrate on writing more, not putting myself under pressure with how many more. Plus, I can concentrate on drinking maybe one less cup of coffee. But, then again I didn't include the amount in the goal. This way I know I will be successful. Do you have a goal you would like to set for yourself for the next month?

@MALUSE I understand how you feel. For me though, if I don't have a little goal I feel sort of rudderless.

@MorleyHunt I would say you are well on your way to accomplishing your goal. I saw a picture of the centerpiece you made and it looks beautiful.

I could do the same. I find coffee is a good thinking companion which we need for writing? However too much coffee is not as good as just enough?

@Bluedoll I find coffee goes great with writing. I am thinking about substituting a cup of tea for a cup of coffee. I love green tea. Maybe it will make me miss my coffee a little less.

Way to go, Susan. I'm with you.... drinking tea or hot cocoa! I'll try to be active next month between edits and writing and reading and life in general. If I can't make payout every month, I aim for every 2 months instead, split it 50/50.

@KristenH I like the way you think. Setting goals that are possible to reach help take some of the stress out of your life, at least it does for me.

I often set myself small goals. I like your way. I think I'll - let's see - eat less chocolate. And I'm not going to say how much less

@HazySue I've been away for four nights but have been very good with my eating. I am almost certain that I've put on a little weight but not huge amounts.

@JudyEv you can do it. Even if you don't say how much less chocolate you eat, you will know you are eating less. Any little bit helps.

I think you can set a goal so that you can measure your success. You can use the number next to your user name as a starting point. At least you can choose to write more posts or write more comments. Whatever it is, the number will increase.

@scheng1 I know me. Once I get back to working every day I will be less likely to have the time to commit to a number. I am committing to doing more writing and I know I can do that, even if it is only one post.

@anh101 I drink 3 cups in the morning, a couple in the afternoon, and one after supper, 6 all together. Even if I only cut out one day a day to begin with it will be a help to my kidneys. I don't drink instant coffee, never developed the taste for it.

@HazySue then how do you make coffee? what kind of coffee maker do you use? May be my coffee making style is different than yours. I make it use a pod and using sweeties with coffee, not really milk but sweetie milk

I cut down by using smaller cups. Then I could have coffee just as often. Eventually I had to give up coffee after noon for sleep problems.

@fishtiger58 I'm with you there. I love each cup of coffee I drink. I love the taste, the smell, and the effects. It is one thing I don't think I could ever completely quit. As for writing, it should be easy to obtain that goal. For me, writing is kind of like breathing. It is a necessity.
