Someone at Church was going to allow us to stay in their apartment below their house for 6 months. We were going to just have to pay half the electric bill, but no rent in order to save up for the home we really want.
Well, she called today and said she doesn't have Home Owners Insurance so she wont be able to let us move in after all. She was really nice about it and everything, and I understand.
I guess it just wasn't meant to be, although it would have helped us a lot. God must have something better planned for us so I am keeping my head up and praying!

Hi my friend. I am sorry this did not come to be, but yes, that is the way I always try to look at it, when one door closes, perhaps a better one will open.
I find it strange though that she does not have homeowners insurance..I thought that was a requirement by law if you own a home in the USA.

@TiarasOceanView Yes I am sure a better door will open for us soon. =) I thought it was required as well but I don't own a home so I'm not sure.

I'm sorry to read this, you must have been so disappointed. I'm sure her heart was heavy when she had to make that call to tell you. It seems you are very understanding and I'm sure she felt bad about getting your hopes up. I'm sending a good thought that a place comes through for you very soon.

@mawhite I was a little disappointed but I know things happen for a reason and I am sure God is going to open another door for us soon. =)

You are so right, that he more than likely has a better place for you to live. Things don't always go the way we want and planned sometimes, but he sees it all, and it works out the way it should. Good always comes from bad, so hang onto that.

that's a shame to get you all excited and then let you down. I wouldn't own a home and not have insurance.

@AbbyGreenhill Yeah I wish we never knew about it unless it was a for sure thing. And I agree I wouldn't own a home without insurance either. Oh well, something better is coming for us.
