I guess everyone has a new calendar or an agenda or a diary for the new year, right? Did you already check it to see on which day local holidays will fall or which day will be Christmas next year? Have you already started adding special dates to remember too? What was the first that you added? Mine? Last year my son organised a two day music festival here and it went so well he has the opportunity to do another one in 2016. He just posted the date. It will be on 1st and 2nd July so those are the first dates that are already booked as 'busy' in my new 2016 agenda There will be live music and food and drink and everyone is welcome!

I have a calendar created from Microsoft Excel, but I have not added any dates into it as of yet.

@mysdianait That will not need entering on a diary because I am certainly not likely to forget.

I don't keep a planner... I probably should, but I just try to keep things straight in my head and i don't look too far into the future as I'm so focused on right now. My first big event is tomorrow actually, it's my daughter's first Winterguard show. She'll have one every Saturday from now till like April. The 10th there is a parent meeting for the high school musical that my son is in. The 16th is the youngest's 8th birthday. The home show is the 30th... that's where our school hosts the Winterguard show and has 18 schools coming. It's quite a feat to put that on and I am somewhat involved in the process, I usually volunteer to work a position that day to help out. That's about all I can keep straight in my head at the moment.

Sounds like you have a busy month ahead but you seem totally organised even without an agenda!

The first thing I wrote in my 2016 agenda, as I keep accurate records, was the time that I woke up today and it was 11:15 AM.

Hey long time no see! Seems ages since we crossed paths! Are you write every day the time that you wake? Any particular reason for doing that? Happy New Year!

@mysdianait I am here! I record the time I wake up and the time that I go to bed to monitor my health. Also everything I eat and drink and if I go to the bathroom for the same reason. All the best for 2016!

Happy 2016 dear MysD. I have not gone out of the house during the past 48 hours. As such, I have no (printed) calendars or even diaries yet. But I know a few days will always be special. Feb 2nd, March 7th, Aug 5th, Aug 15th, Aug 16th, Aug 24th and Dec 13th (the latest addition). Barring Feb 2nd which is our Wedding Anniversary, all other dates are birthdays - mom, wifey, brother, nephew, dad, and my sweet charming little princess. I do not have too many dates to note down. So that makes things easier. And despite all of this, I always am either the last one to wish them or the first one (and in this case, it is always on the wrong date) Cant help. Numbers and me

I have hang the new calendars this morning and changed the agenda. I did not need to watch which day will be Christmas next year, it's usually one day more than the past, but this one is a leap year, so we have to add two. I added a special date to remember, my birthday! Of course I remember, but someone does not.

I suppose the first day in my calendar with something to do would be today. I'm going to a concert tonight. I have five concerts this month, plus six doctor's appointments.

That music festival should be fun. My first dates were medical appointments for my husband, and the whole of March is marked off as we will go to Spain for that.

Wooww, I just remember that every 4th year, like this year the women are allowed to propose for marriage.. That is a custom in Finland. And if the man says No, he has to buy her fabric for a dress.. So be careful unmarried men if there are Finnish girls around.. Hmm... have to start writing something in my calendar Yes, I am Finnish..

As I was planning for my son's homeschooling lessons for the year, I also checked out the festivals in year 2016 and the dates as well. The first date to remember is the first day of school: 4 January - as I have to get the planning done before that. I don't really remember the other dates.
