Have You Ever Used a Hot Water Bottle?

With winter at our doorstep, it can get really cold in the house, especially the bedroom and I hate to get into a cold bed. I have an electric blanket that I turn on and warm up my bed now, but I remember when I was a child, BEFORE electric blankets, my mother used to put a "hot water bottle" in my bed to warm it up before we went to bed. You can still buy "hot water bottles" at the pharmacy. I've seen them there and I think they are still a good idea. Just fill them with hot water and make sure the cap is tight, so it won't spill and put it under the covers before you go to bed. If you have two, you can put one at the foot of the bed and one at the shoulder position and warm up those cold sheets before going to bed. What do you think?

My mom used to do that too. I find my sheet warm up so quickly once I get in bed I don't bother. I do use a hot water bottle for pain relief sometimes.

I don't warm up my bed with my body heat anymore for some reason, so I use the electric blanket. I don't sleep with it on, but it's nice to get into a warm bed.

Yes I often used one when I was young. It was a great comfort. I dont need one now.

Winter sheets and warm socks will do the trick for keeping me warm.

Always buy one with a cover - it prevents chilblains on your toes and keeps the bottle warm through the night.
