Papparazzi Vs. Celebrity Freedom Celebrities-people love them, kids want to be them and adults probably want to sleep with them. The papparzi, is looked down with a sense of disdain and are about as highly respected as murderers and rapists. Celebrities have described the paparazzi as HUMAN SPAM .They say we are relentless. There is nothing we won't do to get a shot.Trespassing a celeb's property??Do it all the time.!Run a red light to catch a glimpse of the star? Without a second thought! So what? It is part of our job. This is the only way we afford a house and support our families. Celebrities should really think before they agree to becoming famous, because once they are so,they will have to give up their normal life and will be tracked down. Every celebrity aims and dreams to become an idol. An idol is worshipped, in what ways is often exaggerated and varied. Being a celebrity comes with a territory. When you decide to become a lawyer, you know you will be subject to awful clients, terrible judges , a lot of research and sleepless nights. You cannot stop midway and say " Hiatus.I am not taking t any more".Similarly, being a celebrity , you cannot take the paparazzi out of the equation. It is expected and comes with the job. A big presumption that people make, is that celebrities are always dancing on air happy , have millions in their bank accounts and have all the things going their way. But why are gossiping stories so popular. Why are people more interested in celeb pregnancies than soldiers dying in Afghanistan and Iraq? Why are people more interested in details of Britney Spears entering a rehab than school shootouts? The answer is simple. When we read about a celeb, learn what is going on in their lives ,they realize there isn't a black cloud hanging above just their heads. This pops our self centered bubble. Plus there is another point. Because celebrities are in constant limelight, people relate to them, rejoice for them and are even inspired to join a cause. We all need heroes. Somebody who is courageous, sacrificing and who will set an example for all the others to follow. People love heroes, they cherish them, cheer for them, scream their names and live up for them. The celebrities are not so holy of holies either. Aware of the allure they can exert on an average "Joe and James", they try to profit from the image by endorsing a product, aware that their fan following will be tricked into buying it too. Thus by signing the dotted line, celebrities fortify their right to be left alone. They cannot captivate people to score a lucrative endorsement and then shoo away that interest when it is no longer convenient . This is what a sociologist would call "keeping the cake and eating it too". It all lies in the circle of life. People are leeches for needing celebrities to keep themselves entertained, the paparazzi is a leech for exploiting people's need to earn a life and the clebrities are leeches for needing our need for them to earn big dollars.
