Taking the first baby steps to change!

United States

I have already stated that I don't make resolutions. I also believe that you can accomplish changes in your life by taking baby steps. I know that I need to get in better shape and I have totally avoided it. But today I took my first baby step toward better health. I watched QVC yesterday. Marie Osmond was demonstrating her BodyGym Deluxe Portable Resistance Band Home Gym. I had watched it at other times but it didn't motivate me. Yesterday it did and I'll tell you why. A woman called in to say that she had convinced several people to start using this product and one was an 82 year old woman. Well, if an 82-year-old can use it so can I! As of the last I heard in the late evening they had sold 198,000 of this product. I am now included in the total number sold. The original price was $46 but it was (and still is I believe) on sale for $39.98. I waited until this morning to place my order since I wanted to be sure it was what I wanted to do. I plan on using it as soon as I get it. I think (and hope) it will be as easy to use as it looked on TV! Wish me luck..... pixabay.com/en/sport-train-active-fitness-1014000/

I don't want big pieces of equipment - had them years ago, got rid of them. This I can sit in a chair in front of the TV and when I'm done put it away!

I've mentioned my husband I joined the YMCA. We love it and I do a Senior's Aerobic program called gentle fit and we use those bands in that class. Good luck and let us know how you like it when you get it.

I have those resistance bands, I bought them when I had a problem to my right shoulder, my physiotherapist suggested to use them to strengthen the shoulder.

I have one from when I went to physical therapy when I had sciatica - but one isn't much of a help. I hope it's as easy to use as it looked on TV

@AbbyGreenhill they certainly did make it look easy to use and I saw John Schneider on last night promoting it. I have shoulder pain...do you think this would help?

That is a reasonable price. I make resolutions and baby steps are all about how I accomplish them.

Yes I thought it was a good price too. Plus I ordered it thru EBates to QVC and made 80 cents LOL!

@paigea You join ebates and from their site you go to whatever site yuo wish to purchase from - there are thousands who belong. They all have a percentage of cash back - QVC is only 2 percent. I've gotten back as much as $4 from one purchase at another online shop.

Good luck in your endeavor! The first step to change is always the hardest, so good for you in taking charge and making the first step. Like you, I also do not have a list of resolutions, but one of my top goals is to eat healthier and be more physically active. We are not getting any younger, and I figure that if we will not start taking of ourselves now, when?

Right on! I am hoping that it will help by breathing, as I have COPD and with less weight I think my lungs wouldn't have to work so hard!

I saw this yesterday on QVC and was almost motivated to buying it. Looked like something I might use and the price was right. But, so far I haven't placed the order. AS I'm still thinking about it I hope you get lots of use from yours and looking forward to hearing how well it works. I also need to get myself healthier

That's why I didn't order it yesterday - I had to make sure I really would use it and I thought about it last night and again this morning.
