The Year is New, But Not Much Else.

I may be getting older, or perhaps less optimistic. I'm not giving up but depression seems to be catching up with too frequently these days. I recognize the change in the numbers and the joy and beauty of seeing family come together to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. It's very hard though to shelve the reality of what's going on in the world we live in today. We may have gotten a break from the bad stuff, but they're still sitting outside waiting on the moment of peace to pass. While the year is new, it would be so nice if we didn't have to go back to wars and hatred, divisive religious issues and nasty political rhetoric. More recently the quick passing of new year celebrations meant going back to the office and praying for Friday to come around quickly. But the world has changed and even teenagers are recognizing the difference in the air. We do the best we can to keep going on. With all that's happening wherever you may be, I hope you will have the happiest New Year and that you will make the feeling last for as long as you wish.

Hi @jahernandezrivas. Nice to meet you also. I stopped working on New Years resolutions because they left me feeling really sad and non committal when they didn't work out after a few days or weeks. Now I just dive into things like health and being calm, but I take it one day at a time. If I mess up that trend I don't feel so bad once I get back on track. I hope yours will work out though. I wish you and your family all the very best for 2016. Keep me posted on what's happening my friend.

We can always hope things will get better can't we? The world has always been full of turmoil and probably will be until the end of time. Its too bad we don't hear more of the good things that are happening too. Hopefully you will have a good year regardless of what is going on in the world. Just try to do one good thing a week. Even if it doesn't change the world you will know you tried!
