I thought today’s television looked promising for a while

After a horrendous festive season of television shows, it actually looked as though today would be a decent day. I have always been fond of The Chase, which provides some very challenging questions, as opposed to the often embarrassingly easy ones in most quiz shows. This afternoon I noticed that the channel Challenge was showing a long run of The Chase USA, which should keep me entertained until something appears on another channel. Of course I was sadly mistaken. I have watched either 6 or 7 consecutive shows so far and there are still no alternative shows being transmitted on other channels. I really enjoy the show, but there is only so much that I can watch before it becomes a little repetitive, so once again I have abandoned the television.

I have not even turned on the TV yet today. I have found an old adventure game and I have started playing it and I continued for a couple of hours.

Computer games and the like do not appeal to me, so it was television or DVD.

@Asylum I like adventure games, I was playing "Sherlock Holmes, The Case of the Silver Earring". It's just like watching a moving, but you have to solve the plots.

The kids tend to turn the TV on first thing in the morning. I like to start my day with the news. Hopefully once we get back into a routine we can turn the TV off and give it a rest more often.

I usually have it on for most of the day, whether I am actually watching or not.

@Morethanamom I prefer most of the children's programs.

@Asylum That tends to happen here often. Sometimes the kids are off doing something else and I find myself sitting in front of kids shows.

You know what I am watching tonight but I was on the road most of the day so didn't watch TV.

I would rather be on the road than watching Downton Abbey.

I can concur with your statement of Horehounds festive programs - why do they do that to us - they know most of the people are home and looking for something to watch - the TV here was absolutely appalling - we saw BBC programs of 2007

You got the modern shows then because we had Morecambe and Wise from the 1960s.

It is well worth checking out at least one episode. It has to be the ultimate in quiz shows because the questions are extremely diverse and not the usual obvious stuff asked in many shows.

@Asylum I used to Jeopardy now and then. They had some decent questions.

We rarely watch TV through the day although there are a couple of programs on that I wouldn't mind watching. It's going to be stinking hot again so perhaps watching TV under the air-conditioner isn't a bad idea.

Oh of course, you are in the Summer half of the globe. If it was summertime here I would not mind so much because I could always sit outside instead.

The Chase is one of my favorite shows. Can I assume your shows are the same as ours with The Beast?

Today's shows all were because it was the USA version of the show, although the original UK version has several different chasers who appear in turn.
