"The Bachelor" starts Monday evening

United States
January 3, 2016 12:17pm CST
The new season of "The Bachelor" starts tomorrow evening. Ben Higgins is this season's eye candy! He is adorable and such a baby face, but watching him in action he seems anything buy babyish! I get a kick out of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette". You have to wonder what is lacking in them that so many men and woman stoop to being embarrassed on National TV in hopes of finding love. Love that the majority of the time doesn't last out in the real world. Ben will start the evening with 28 woman, two of whom are 'repeats' and there is a set of twins. That should shake things up a bit! To see a photo of Ben and his harem, I mean the 28 ladies, check out the link.
While we anxiously wait to see Ben Higgins as The Bachelor 2016, we get to give you some The Bachelor 2016 spoilers and it is time to meet the women on The Bachelor Season 20! There are 28 women fight

I have never watched either one, but have to agree with you on the embarrassement. I watch "Married at first sight and Married by Mom and Dad. Those are some weird shows, I would never marry anyone, never knowing them.

@gr8nana6 It probably does in some cases but since I don't like doing what i'm told it would be good for me!

I have not watched this show. I cannot believe that young people have to do this in order to find a partner, this sounds weird.

@AbbyGreenhill I imagined this was the main reason, they are shameless.

@LadyDuck Maybe they also can't live w/o so much attention!

They do it for many reasons, free trips, a few weeks not working but partying and drinking. There have been some who did it for fame, in the hope of getting noticed by tv people.

I usually watch the first and last episode only. I can't bear to watch in between since real love does not have that many perks (spontaneous trips, vacations, outings!!)

How on earth do people watch this stuff??? Oh snap. The 49ers game is on. Gotta turn it on, though I don't care that much.

I am not a big fan of the Bachelor shows having been turned off in the past by what they show that should not be shown that time of night when children are still watching

I watched that all the time. Somewhere along the line a year ago or so I just got tired of it all and stopped watching. My hubby liked to tease me when I would watch

I have to completely agree that this is certainly not a viable way to find a partner. It is almost certain to result in a superficial relationship, which is in reality of no value whatsoever.

And think of all the money those woman spend on the gowns, and the make-up and hair and the almost nonexistent bathing suits!

@AbbyGreenhill As long as it is their money that is being spent then I do not care, but they would no doubt expect the new boyfriend to provide such things.

@AbbyGreenhill I bet that "almost nonexistent bathing suit" cost more than a full one.

I watched a few seasons years back of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but when these couples ended up breaking up after building everyone's hopes up with the Rose / Engagement episodes, I ditched both those shows. I think only one couple has stayed together since the creation of these shows. It is tacky how these couples end up breaking up.

I think three or four between the two shows, which isn't good odds.

I get a kick out of it - I got hooked when I did a lot of writing about TV shows. Now I just watch to laugh.

A silly TV show where one man meets 28 woman and each week votes a few off until it gets down to one.
