The Everglades In Florida

United States

I've been all over Florida. Miami, Tampa, Melbourne, Disney World in Orlando, Key West, you name it. I have family there and have spent many vacations there. I think I've been to Disney World about ten times. It's the most visited theme park in the USA, I've been told. The one place though, that was beyond interesting was the Everglades. We took a fan-driven air boat ride through the Park. Amazing! It looks like a green pastureland but this saw grass "prairie" is actually a marsh and the only way to travel over it is in an air boat. My husband, my youngest son and I spent the day there a few years ago. The Everglades cover a large area in Central Florida. It's only a few feet higher than sea level at it's highest point and contains a huge variety of animals, including alligators. It's one of the largest national parks in the USA. Have you ever been there? Have you ever ridden in an air-boat?

I have been there and no I did not ride in an airboat. I actually live in Fl and they have airboat rides at Midway and all along 50 between the east coast and Orlando. My grandfather went and he enjoyed himself.

Nice that your grandfather got to go. I enjoyed it too. Do you live on the east coast or west on in the middle of FL. My sis-in-law lives in Spring Hill on the west coast. I often go down and spend a couple weeks with her in the winter, but haven't been for a couple years.

@IreneVincent I went to Spring Hill a couple of years ago. Blink your eyes and you miss it community. I live in Port St. John on the east coast between Cocoa and Titusville. We always have nice weather. Except today it was in the 60s. BRRR.
