Soup is the solution.

The thermometer reads 8 degrees centigrade, but it feels much colder than that today, and my feet are like blocks of ice. Belfast has just been washed clean by a very persistent deluge, and I've taken refuge in a warm cafe and am applying a bowl of hot, peppery vegetable soup to my frozen condition.

I have bacon and tomato puree in the fridge, lentils in the cupboard and a few other things like ginger, cumin, cardamom and maybe some carrot to help fill it out. I think that I may be making soup today!

I sure love hot and creamy soup in such weather too. That is not possible if I stay in my country all the time. There is not a single day that the temperature drops below 21 degree Celsius.

Minus 8 C here. Not looking forward to running errands. Soup sounds like an excellent idea.

A hot soup is always wonderful in the cold weather. Even though in the sunny days, I enjoy drinking hot soup as well, as it helps to warm my stomach.
