My "Feline Soulmate" - Do you have one?

I once read an article about how there is a phenomenon known as a "feline soulmate". Some people believe pet, is their soulmate, and a reflection of their deepest self, a creature often sent to help them or "save" them. Me? I believe it's hogwash. And yet. I consider that, my kitten and I have a number of coincidental similarities. Such as: She is the smallest (the runt), and the skinniest of her family, like I am. She seems to have a little bit of scoliosis in her back like me. She is very, very, VERY fast (hence her nickname "Warp Speed") like me. She has three brothers, and I have two brothers. She is very bashful but also, extremely playful and happy like me. She has unusual color patterns, and I also have an unusual style. She loves feathers like me. She likes Japanese food like me. She seems to be kind of ADHD, focusing on weird things and hyperactive, like me. She arrived in my life at a time of great change, and right after I met my boyfriend. I needed her, and she needed me. I had thought my heart closed permanently but now I have more love than I'd imagined possible. Can any of you relate to having a "pet soulmate"?

I've had quite a few feline soulmates. I had one who was like the cat version of myself. We found each other in a self-storage facility... the place was closing for the evening and I heard a cat yowling for dear life. I thought somehow a cat had gotten locked in a storage bin so I went and got the manager and we drove around tracking down the piteous meowing. As it turns out it was a little calico kitty stuck on a fence. I plucked her off the fence and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, hahaha. We were living in a campground and already had two cats and a dog who was not cat friendly so I tried to shoo her on back home (she was clean and fat and fluffy so I knew she had one) but she wouldn't have any of it... she stuck to my heels like she was glued to them.

@buttheadface932 Yes I did. She stayed with me a couple years or so then left me a litter of kittens to stand in for her while she took off looking for adventure. She was a very wild child.

Every fur person is unique and beloved. Sonny James big guy glues himself to me at night. Years ago a cat, Will Tweedy, woke me up, yelling in my ear. I finally got up and found I'd left a pot on the stove, burning dry, smoking. I went back and told Will I was sorry I'd yelled at him.

@buttheadface932 I believe that the average person thinks cats are aloof cause they've not spent time with them. Our Saia kitty was not nurtured when she was young and oh she is an emotional mess. Slowly she is coming around to learning that being social with humans is fine and sometimes feels good.

Awwwww how cute!! That's so adorable, I wish I had a cat who cuddled me at night! my baby only occasionally cuddles me! And what a handy cat to help alert you to a danger!! Cats are so underestimated!!

Mine is sitting right here behind me, playing with my ponytail. She just ate and I think this is her way of thanking me, LOL.

i dont know if this is along the lines of "feline soulmate", but i am of the belief that- "you dont choose your pet, the pet chooses you" (my zen moment of the night)
