No Gratitude!

One of the innovative products on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is a self cleaning toilet which, the manufacturers claim, only needs to be cleaned by a human once a year. I thought this sounded like a marvellous idea so asked my son, who is a student, if he and his house mates would like such a labour saving device. "No chance", he grunted. "Why not?", I enquired, a tad disgruntled at such a firm and speedy rejection of my generosity. "There's no way we're cleaning the toilet more often than we do now", he growled and went back to bed.

I was under the impression that students these days were clean and tidy with all the mod cons. I didn't think any of them lived in squalor and dirt like we did, back in the day!

The majority of young people will always like living in squalor and dirt.

His house is a tad run down. Although it is in the town centre within walking distance of his university and bars/restaurant etc so as they say, location, location, location.

@MALUSE I'm not sure if they like living in squalor. I think it's more a case of they just can't be bothered living in a clean environment.

@WorDazza He would probably soon get fed up of the nonsense that I talk and rush back home for a bit of sanity.

I can't work out why, if it's self-cleaning, it still needs a human clean once a year!!!

@Drosophila That may be some time away! He had a bad experience with a bit of a bunny boiler. He managed to extricate himself from that a couple of years ago and swore blind he wasn't getting involved with anyone any time soon!!
