Do I admit OR Keep my mouth shut ?

You best friend calls you up a couple hours before your're due to go out telling you that he or she has a sick relative today and thinks he/she should go sit with the relative. Most people would have a broad understanding of this: BUT... Next day you get a call from a different friend and that friend says he was looking for you at the casino. You ask why and this person tells you that your best friend was there all afternoon and wondered if you were there too. Do you confront your best friend letting he/she know that you know or do you keep your mouth shut and move on?

I personally would confront but that's me! Only because I like to prove my point..... But then again, that is why I am not a social bug anymore because I found many aren't real.

I have a relative who has a gambling problem. I don't know what to say to them, but they lie a lot.

She certainly wouldn't be my best friend after that. I'd give her the cold shoulder and if she asks why - tell her.

That's really a tough one. I'd probably be inclined to mention that the friend was seen at the casino and see what the response is

Since it's plain they aren't acting like a good friend, maybe just gently ask them why they told you this when they actually went to the casino?

Probably a better way of doing things however I put my feelings on paper and left it at my friends door. Nothing further was ever said but I know where I stand in terms of honesty, which is something I hold near and dear to my heart.
