Together But Not Together

There are times that my boyfriend and I will be sitting together in the living room, but we are not doing things together. He could be watching his TV program and I would be on my laptop surfing or writing or chatting with friends. Or I would be watching Netflix on my iPad and he will be on his own laptop. And it will be fine because we know that there are times we need some time by ourselves just doing our own thing. We trust that we will have time to do things together at some time and we have our own interests to do, businesses and work to check on, even online interactions to catch up with. Times like this, surprisingly, I feel at home and at peace.

My husband and I are the same way. I have a TV in the bedroom with the desktop and I will be on it in the bedroom and he is on his laptop in the living room watching something different on his TV.

That is so nice, isn't it? Like we don't always feel the need to fill every time we're together with something to do together, or an activity to share.

It is very important to have some activities that you do together.

This is the exact same scenario my boyfriend and I have going! Like right now I am relaxing on the bed, browsing myLot + listening to music while he is doing his own thing (currently cleaning!)

It still feels nice, isn't it? Now if I can only convince my boyfriend to do the dishes while I put my feet up it will be great. But then he did the driving so I do not think I will win this one, lol!

@Raine38 Hehe! Sharing is caring! I guess your turn for the dishes. But it does feel nice to be together, but we can do other things.

We need our individual spaces along with spending time with our loved ones. There must be a proper balance between the two though.

I believe so too. And everything in moderation. Too much of anything can be bad also.

I hope it's not like that all the time. But so far, it's cool as long as it doesn't make either of you less of importance to each other. It's nice from time to time to have that moment shared together.
