Frozen doors

Canada
January 11, 2016 9:01am CST
It was very cold this morning. After the rain and snow we got yesterday, the sliding doors on my minivan were frozen shut. Even after letting my van run while getting the kids bundled up, the sliding doors were still frozen. This meant that I had to get the youngest 2 in from between the front to seats. Not the easy way, but the only way. The doors were still frozen after getting back from dropping the girls off at school. For now the van is parked in the sun, and hopefully the sun warms it enough that I can get the doors open later.

We had some frozen car doors yesterday as well. I hate that.

Isn't there some kind of spray that you could use?

@marlina Yes there is a spray you can buy for just that problem, all she needs to do is go to the auto zone or a store like that and ask about the spray.

@Marcyaz I tried the spray last winter and it didn't work. Thankfully one was unstuck by the time I had to load up and get the girls, and the other freed up when I was there.

@Morethanamom I had only heard of the spray but never needed it so now I will remember it does not work.

This also happened to my friend so she went to the auto store and bought some stuff you spray on that will help when your doors freeze.

I'm lucky my doors haven't been frozen to do it being cold. I always start it 15mins early when I know it's really cold out.
