How difficult it is to say No ?

I had read once that, one should learn to say NO. But I want to discuss here whether it is easy to say No or it is difficult. Personally I feel it a little difficult. An example could be of lending books. Assume you have a good collection of books and you really don't like to lend them. So, a very close friend comes and asks you for a book saying he will read and return in a week'd time. That would be a very tricky situation. Imagine these kind of similar situations and let us find out who finds easy to say No and who finds it difficult.

If the book were really dear to my heart, I wouldn't lend it to anybody. So it would be 'No'.

I think you should only lend what you can afford to lose. So don't lend your special things or money you cannot safely do without

Today I still think it is too difficult for me to say no. Such as if a friend wants to borrow money, it is really hard for me to reject it. As I am afraid that we will not be friends any more. This is why I hope people will not borrow anything from me, even if they are just books.

As a girl, I have no problem saying "no"... In fact it's actually more difficult to say yes sometimes xD

I have read that you should think of a loan to someone as the same thing as giving it to them. That way, if they don't return it, you're not disappointed, but if they do return it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am generally a nice and kind hearted person and find it difficult to say No at times. People tend to take advantage of that. I have had moments where someone borrows money and when its time to pay it back they run away and ignore me. I have learnt the hard way at times and even lost friendships due to that. As hard as it can be, I am learning slowly but surely to say No. I even made a rule to myself not to borrow friends money because in my experience it never ends well.

Yes, I have also had similar experiences in the past where I was the sufferer. Hence I have learnt from my mistakes and I am cautious.
