B ck then in the 60 's prices were still relatively good so we went out a lot to eat and took our toddlers with us.We were gentle but firm so the two little ones did not run wild in the restaurants causing mayhem and angry patrons. So as they grew older they knew how to behave and stayed in their places. We received numerous compliments on how well they behaved. I remembered that as a f ew years back when I was still working in the Tustin Library I often stopped in Spires Restaurant to have a meal There was a family with two small kids. One, a boy about 7 came over to me and picked up my fork and took a bite of my pasta. I was completely shocked and told him to drop my fork and go to his parents. He was in everyone's dinners so finally the manager told them that if they could not control their brat they had best leave. I thanked God that we had trained our two not to bother other people in the restaurants.

he seems a dreadfully unruly child - his parents really should have been thrown out

I would have been horrified had a child done that to me in a restaurant. I would also have gotten up and left right then and there.

@Hatley I hope the parents did something about their child. I'm glad the manager said something to them.

Though I always think kids should be kids, the 7-year-old boy seemed to have acted too much with that. It's okay for a child to be active, but that's already over the limit. Moreover, 7 year old should already understand that. Glad that the manager warned them, as it's really disturbing other diners.

I know. there was a time you could go eat with the kids and they knew how to behave. don't know why that has become such a problem. I also could take my kids to have a nice meal in peace.

yes its because the parents do not teach their litle ones good manners and how to act in a restaurant. Its not that hard to do.

Parents of unruly children in restaurants should be held accountable for disturbing other patrons. If it hits them where it will hurt perhaps they will start training their kids to behave when out in public.

I always made my kids behave when we went somewhere and people could not believe how well behaved they were. My kids know if they acted up than we would not go out again for a long time.

Some parents are way too permissive or too lazy to take the time to teach manners to their children.

That is shocking. I hate to think what he grow up like. It isn't that difficult to make children behave.
