You ever sprouted stuff? The ground is frozen and snoring away under ice and snow. There won't be hope for any edible greens for weeks and months. Do what? My husband likes to sprout raw sunflower seeds. We get protein and greens at the same time. Doesn't take that much effort. Of course a person can also sprout mung beans and make a greener version of what the store sells. You can either put the sprouts in salad and eat them raw or toss some into a batch of bread dough.

I sprout several kind of seeds, chia, alfaalfa, soy. I use the sprouts in salads and also in sandwiches.

I should really do this. It would be a good idea.

I have tried sprouting mung beans on a little pot or even a plastic party cup with some damp dirt on it in just a few days. I like to use them for stir fry vegetables or spring rolls. I have not done that in a while though.

@raine38 Great idea about stirfrys. The sprouts would add a bit of crunch.

@DianneN Sweet on the 67 temp. I am sick to anywhere of wondering what the morning commute will be like. I hope we make it to 40 tomorrow.

@sallypup It was only 67 today, and that was cold. It varies this time of year between 75-85. We are only here for the winter, and have a small lanai. On it I have flowers and 3 herbs growing, and don't cook too much. However, I will look into growing sprouts. Love them!
