His PHYSICALITY includes MANSPREADING which really GIVING ME LIFE. The bold words above are all of Lake Superior State University's 41st Annual List of Banished Words. SO is the most nominated word. @lokisdad You are giving me life with this comment, and I agree with you wholeheartedly, I'll speak how I want to speak, whether on that campus or not.

[b]So]/b] is often the preface to bad news. Problematic and conversation are vital words and would be essential to an accademic argument. The rest I have no problem with being banned.

I think they want to train the students to talk in simple words and in lesser words. Some of the most successful persons are so busy that they speak less than 10 words when you ask them a question.

it depends on the person and in the field where he/she is part of.

That is outrageous lol, ban swear words instead. I feel old because i remember AND,SO,THE,IS,ALSO, were the most overused words. What they should ban is there, they;re their, and to,two, too, hate these just keep it simple.

they ban words that are widely used, and invent new words like SELFIE? the world, even the reading world, is constantly changing.

the banning is specific in just one place. the invention of new words like 'selfie' has nothing to do with them.

not really sure why anyone finds these words problematic - never heard manspreading before

I see no reason why any of those should be banned.

I heard about some of those. Like how are they going banish the word "so." It's not possible, but it would be a good word to banish if they had to. Those are good wrods though to banish
