I Saw A Wolf On My Way Home Last Night

I had gone to a Christian meeting and was driving a friend home, whom I had picked up earlier for the meeting. We were coming down the Boulevard, the main street through town and there on the sidewalk, in the business area of town, was this huge wolf. The wolf stepped out into the road and I had to come to a complete stop as it was directly in front of my car. It stopped and looked up into my windshield and it almost looked as if it were going to jump up on the hood of the car, when some noise distracted it and it ran off across the street. It was an absolutely beautiful animal, with silver coat and blue eyes, and it was huge. I told my son about it and he thought that it must have been someone's pet, after I told him that it was well-fed and groomed and seemed to be calm for the most part, but confused. I had to continue to take my friend to her house, but when I got home, I called the town police. The dispatcher, a woman, spoke as if I had been mistaken about the animal, and asked, was I certain that it was a wolf and not just a big dog, like a husky or something similar. I assured her that it was a wolf. I know what a wolf looks like, for certain. She said that there was no one at Animal Control at that hour. It was about 9:30 PM. She said that she would have an officer check it out, but didn't sound very convincing to me. Then, I told her that there was a man walking on the sidewalk, in the direction of where the wolf had been and I would hate to think that he might be attacked by the wolf. Whether she believed me or not, I don't know. My friend and I were just totally shocked when the wolf came right out into the street and looked straight at us up through the windshield. My headlights were right on the wolf. Quite an experience for us, but I have not heard ONE WORD on the news or from anyone else concerning the wolf. Who knows where it came from or where it eventually went. I might call animal control today and see if they were informed.
