For most of us on mylot you would have had to live under a stone or without any means of communication for the past 40 years not to have heard of the Eurovision song winners called ABBA who stormed the charts around the 70's. Their music is still as popular today as it was back then. They finally got together for an opening of a new Greek restaurant in the Capital city of Sweden, Stockholm. For those of us of a certain age I am sure that there are one or two songs you could sing along to without having to wrack your brains too much. The last time the four of them got together was back in 2008. Bjorg and Benny are still creating their music and the two girls are more or less living in purdah and out of the limelight. These four very talented people were hugely popular and even today their legacy of their music lives on both on stage and in films and now apparently in a restaurant in Sweden. The one thing that surprised me most was that they are either 70 or nearly 70. My granddaughter can sing word for word all their songs on their movie. She adores ABBA. Did you like ABBA the pop group and do you still like their music?

OH please no. They were and are still very good. That statement is almost of philistine proportions.

I like the Abba and I believe I can sing along most of their songs. When I visit Ikea they always play their songs. At least something pleasant in that store.

I love ABBA A to A. lol. They were the best at that time. Westlife was good after them but did not reach that magic. My little friend's little sister (less than 2) tries to keep up with the beat of Honey Honey..she likes that number apparently. Her mother wants strictly no adult English or Hindi songs, but this one is a born naughty kid. She loves even Beegees Staying alive - especially ha ha ha ha bit. It is fun to see her enjoying the beat..:)

The reason that ABBA music is so popular is something to do with the score it is written in. The beat is infectious and liked by most people.

It was the same in Las Vegas too. The audience were stir crazy all up dancing in the aisles too. My daughter took my grand daughter to see it a month or so ago. She absolutely adores it and sings all the words. Of course Naughty Granddad sings the wrong words which gets her in a huff a bit as she tries to correct me!

I wasn't such a fan at the time, I thought they were rather cheesy. I like them better now, but the biggest fan in the family is my daughter age 9 so obviously you don't have to be 'of a certain age'!

That's very true. My grand daughter who is five adores them and knows every word to the film. She is word perfect.(Until I started singing) I got her quite exasperated in the end by keep singing 'In the loo la lala lala In the loo. No grandad it's Waterloo. I did it a bit too much in the end she stomped off and sat on the floor sulking because I would not do as I was told. Ooops!
