Our Wal-Mart is closing

Well it been all over the news! Several Wal-Mart stores are closing their doors.
We have one of the small Neighborhood Markets in my town, it is one that will be closing it's doors.
Everything is on sale now at 25% off, tomorrow it will be 50% off and if there is anything left Monday it will be 75% off. Whatever is left Tuesday will be donated.
I went yesterday and along with adding coupons - I got some good deals. I stocked up on canned goods.
I will check tomorrow when the sale is bigger and hopefully be able to stock up on lots of things for the house.
They were already out of meat, paper goods and fresh fruit and veggies.
I am sure they will be out of lots more by tomorrow.

And so I have heard, would you know the reason why? I've tried searching and i get answers like labor unrest, lots of crazy conspiracy theories etc.. about America. I\m not American but I'm just curious cause I think they shut one down in California where i have relatives living.

I am not really sure why.
The people in my town think it is a tax write off.
Our store has only been open for like 6 months.

@louievill I know it's terrible for them. There are not many jobs in my town because it is small. Some of the workers walk because they do not have vehicles, I don't know what they will do.

From what I have read, all the closing stores are in the states,

I am sure sorry to hear that . When you're in a small town , Walmart is often the main , if not the only, employer.

Sounds like they are closing up shop fast. It took a few months from when Target announced it was closing all their Canadian stores to the time they closed their doors. They likely sent some of the merchandise to other stores to sell them there for regular price.
