Not being able to relate?

I was at work last night and one of the girls asked me to go to another coworkers party. Now if they gave me more than anhour notice I would say sure. Once I get paid I budget it out, I am spending more than what is coming in. So realistically I have nothing. But if I haven't gone out in awhile I'll take $20 and go. Well I wasn't plan on going anywhere until next weekend (besides work). Plus, this week I work less hours 16 hours so less gas, meaning this pay period I could put more to other bills instead of gas. I said sorry I don't have money for gas, and have enough to get home last night, and back to work today then I have 2 days off. I said maybe next time when I can plan a little with money set aside. This girl just stared at me and goes it's only to the next town over (45 minutes there, and an hour home), that is a lot of gas that I otherwise wouldn't use. I said sorry I couldn't afford it, and I jokingly said I have bills the bank expects me to pay. She goes oh with a confused look on her face. It's almost like she didn't understand, she goes if you change your mind text me.

I am not the type that goes out often, but if I invited someone and their response was gas (like yours). I would respect their word and not go at it, like explain - it's only the next town over, etc. I would respect your word and leave it as that.

That is what I would do. I mean I know not all of us have money floating in it. But 45 minutes isa decent time frame compared to 10 minutes. If she gave me more of a notice I could of budget it in as well.

@ricki_911 Yes that's another factor - she asked you last minute. Hopefully you won't encounter anymore of those moments.

@infatuatedbby That is what I pointed out if you asked me before 2 hours before the party started.

Some people just don't understand about money issues.

I guess so I know she is roughly my age, but lives at home, and has no concept of responsibility.
