I Think I Will Sleep Better Tonight

United States

The snow has finally stopped falling and the wind has calmed down considerably. I won't have to listen to icy sleet hitting the windows tonight. Thank goodness. Tomorrow we will be very busy trying to clean off the vehicles and the porches and side walks and driveway. Thankfully, we did not lose power, so that was a blessing in itself. As all this snow begins to melt, we may have some flooding problems. A lot of snow fell on Virginia. North, south, east and west. Tons of snow will have to be dealt with as parking lots will have to be cleared at shopping centers, hospitals, and doctor's offices. It will be a major undertaking. Not to mention the tons of salt that were dumped on the roads that will get into the streams and rivers. Sometimes, we just don't think about all those consequences of a snow storm such as we have had this week end. I'm headed for bed however, and since I'm not planning to go anywhere tomorrow, I'll be back. Now, that sounds familiar. LOL

We are dealing with the aftermath of the snow here too. Although our snow was not near as much as what I am sure you got. I am glad you did not lose power as I know how that can be. I hope the after math isn't as bad as it can be there and there isn't much for flooding.

This storm made a wide path across the country and dumped a lot of precipitation, mostly snow. I hope we never get another storm like this one. It has been and will continue to be one for the record books, I'm sure.

I guess you have heard about our big snow storm, even in the Philippines. Have you ever seen snow?

I don't blame you for moving away from SD. I've been to SD two times but it was in the summer both times. I know that winters there can be harsh. I lived in Caribou, Maine for two winters. That was enough for me. Usually, here in Virginia, the winters are not too bad. I remember four or five storms like this over the last 50 years. So, that's not too bad.

It is best to stay home if you do not have to go anywhere.

I'm not going anywhere until I know the roads are clear. My hibernation has begun. LOL
