When you are blocked for no reasons.

A user with the log in name Pamexyz, @Pamxyz started a post about blocking other users, who keep disturbing her. I responded to her post in a normal manner. I received a notification that she has commented on my response. However, when I opened the page to check her comments I found that I cannot comment further because probably she has ‘blocked’ me. I felt strange that she has blocked me for no reasons. Ideally, such kind of users needed to be ignored and in my view they do not deserve to be on mylot. I have deliberately mentioned the user’s name so that others could know that this particular user could block anyone without reasons. Have you ever been blocked by any user without reasons?

I don't think there's such a thing as "being blocked without reason." The blocker being a jerk is a reason, right?

I did not want to use the word jerk or nut for her but it seems to me that the who has blocked me without any reason would fall in the category mentioned by you.

@dpk262006 I didn't want to use the word jerk, either... myLot wouldn't let me write what I actually wanted to say.

@yukimori You could write a (banned) word with asterisk sign. Suppose you want to mention the word 'flower' you could write 'flow*r. Mylotters will understand and it will not be termed a violation.

@SIMPLYD There's nothing wrong with it... aside from the fact that some individuals here seem to not want to interact with users from certain parts of the world just because they're from those locations.

It actually only goes one way. Once someone blocks you, you can't interact with them at all. Even the block button on their profile disappears.

@SIMPLYD - As our friend @yukimori has rightly pointed out that If a user has blocked me, I just cannot block her, as her profile does not show any option. Yes, it is better to ignore such people. However, I was little peeved by her action as I did no wrong to her. It seems to me 'blocking' others is a like a game for her and she likes to play this game. To my mind - such users have no place on mylot.

Now I have a question. You say that PamJam blocked you, but I see a comment left by you on one of her posts. I suppose she blocked you after the comment. I believe that she only followed those who she think are native English speaking users. I know many that are British and write from Spain, Italy and other countries and many who are NOT British or American and write from the States.

Yes, she blocked me and sent a PM today informing me that she has (deliberately) blocked me. If you happen to read my response, there was nothing offensive in the response, which could force a user to block me. In my view such users should not be welcomed on mylot by anyone.

@jstory07 May be you are right. However, in case a user blocks you, you cannot come to know straightaway till you visit his/her profile/discussions. If you have been blocked, you cannot post comments on his/her discussions/posts.

I actually don't know if anyone has blocked me - but if they did, I say, oh well. You are the most friendly, helpful sort here - I don't understand why anyone would block you. I say it is her loss! In any case, from reading other's comments, I guess she is a habitual blocker - and I suppose she can choose to block whomever she wants. However, that will give her less of a chance to do well on this site - and less of a chance to make better friends with folks. I can't seem to find this person in a search - does that mean I may be blocked too? I don't know, and I don't care to know this person at this point - not worth any of our time.

Hello @much2say Yes, you have stated correctly, I was aghast to note that she blocked me for no reasons, when I had responded to her few posts in a normal manner. May be she is not worried about loss and profit but she loves to play 'blocking' game. She seems to be block everyone, irrespective of nationality or age etc. and I do not think such kind of users are required here. You better need not search for her, as interacting with her is not going to serve any useful purpose. Have a nice day :)

@dpk262006 I don't understand the logic of those blockers - I don't understand the point of the game. It's odd behavior - is it for attention? Is it for control? To me it's just "weird"! You are right it serves no useful purpose to any of us - if this person wants to keep on blocking, well, it will be their complete loss on myLot!! Hope you are doing well!!

@much2say It is certainly an uncalled for an odd behaviour just for playing pranks here or may be for seeking attention. Weirdos are not required on mylot. She probably is not aware that blocking everyone or anyone will not make her gain anything. I am doing fine. What about you? How is weather? Have a nice day.

OK, I take it back. I don't think I ever interacted with this woman in any way but I TOO am blocked. Well at least she achieved something and got me to notice her but that won't earn her anything at all. The only comfort I take from people like this is that whilst they are being so narrow minded, they aren't earning cents from us.

I think the block feature is being misused by some users, as they will block anyone that doesn't agree with them, and if it is their geographical location, then that is really dumb. I will chat with anyone no matter where they are from, and I don't block them beciase they are from a different cournty. There are lots of nice people in here, from all over, so it really makes no sense to me why some block. I did once, but that was becasue of all the arguing that the user did to everyone that commented on his discussions.

You seem to be right that 'block' feature is misused and instead of 'reporting' it to admin, the user has the tool to block anyone and everyone. If she had blocked me (or others) for some difference of opinion, that point was understandable, however, she blocked me without any reason. It is, therefore, I thought that it would be better to start a discussion on this issue so that others could become aware about her deeds.

@dpk262006 I don't think I have been blocked by here or anyone else, but it wouldn't matter if I had, as if they want to be that way, then more power to them. I don't have time for people like that anyway. I will only interact with those that will interact with me. Drama, certainy isn't welcome here, and by someone blocking others for no reason, brings on the drama.

Yes, it was utterly rude on her part to block me unnecessarily. And I felt more bad when she later massaged me that she has blocked me and it is a kind of fun activity for her. I thought - "OMG! What kind of users are there on mylot" Once I started this post I came to know that she used to block many users and vitiate the atmosphere here. Later on she was banned from mylot because such kind of users are not required here.
