Dancing at a Wedding

Canada
January 25, 2016 1:58am CST
I just came back from a wedding. I had a blast dancing with all the people there who were half my age. I used to be so much more self conscious while dancing when I was younger. Now I don't care who is watching and feel the joy flowing through me. Do you like to dance? When was the last time you danced with a group of people? (It had been a long time for me.)

I suppose if you dance in your slippers you'd make less noise than dancing in your high heels.

Fun is what matters unless you are on stage.

@Sheilamarie78 But it is still nice joining the people and swaying to the beat.

Sometimes it's just moving to the beat. There are no real dance steps.

Dancing at a wedding is a special kind of dancing when everybody should't care about style or technique

I love that different ages are involved at a wedding, too. That makes it extra fun!

It has been long since the last I think and I would love to dance without thinking of how I look like doing so.. that would be fun.

It's crazy how self conscious we can become. It often kills the joy. Truth is, people usually look beyond our awkwardness when we get into the music and just move with it.

I love to dance at weddings or at dinner/dances that we go to. Both fast as well as slow dancing, they are both fun.

I agree. It's fun to have different types of music to dance to as well.

That's darn good question and to be honest, it's been a long long time - and at my age I'll sit and watch.

Like @TiarasOceanView, you could dance around the house, though. It's great exercise.

Last time I danced with a group was a year and a half ago. A group of us grannies had our grand babies on the dance floor. We had a blast.

I can't think of the last time I danced. I did use to love going to the country dances but I was never a good dancer!
