I Dread Going to Work Today

I know I shouldn't complain, what with people on the east coast having to deal with all the snow, but I really dread going to work today! Hubby and I put in 2 new snack machines in for 2 of our customers and we have to re-stock them as well as the other 10 or so machines we have out. The weather is not real cold, about 50 today, but the wind is already blowing and will be about 20 to 30 mph while we are having to go in and out all day. Most of our machines are inside but there are a few pop machines that are outside of businesses and we are going to have to deal with that cold wind. I will probably look like an Eskimo today as I plan on layering my clothes today! Hopefully, some thermal underwear below my jeans and sweatshirt will keep that cold wind out!

I'm surprised that you have some machines outside - don't the contents freeze? I hope you stay warm.

Thank you, @jaboUK The pop machines are the only ones that are outside and they are fairly well insulated. So far, we have never had anything freeze in them.

@sgbrown I've had soda (or pop) cans freeze and explode when I left them in my car by accident. What a mess

@Marilynda1225 When it is going to get really cold, we will put the pop trailer in hubby's shop and turn the heat down low. We have had several cans almost explode, the tops of them were all pushed out! We had to take them out of inventory and drink them ourselves, darn!

The jeans do not keep warm, I never wear jeans in winter. Today is not too cold here, this morning we were at 31 and right now 38.

@AbbyGreenhill In summer they are often too heavy and in winter they do not keep you warm. I cannot understand why people love so much to wear jeans.

You are so right, jeans are the worst in winter.

@LadyDuck What kind of pants do you wear that are warmer than jeans. Jeans are the warmest pants I have.

Do you have those chemical heat pads? If yes, you can use it to keep your feet and body warm. I think those heat pads are great invention.

I had not thought about those, @scheng1 Hubby may have some of those for when he goes hunting. I could keep a couple in my coat pockets and at least keep my hands warm. Handling those cold pop cans, just freezes my hands! Thanks for the idea!

Yes, I used to wear them when I walked in the winter up north.

Yes, they do! They seem to hold your body heat in. They fit rather tightly and I wear my bigger jeans over them. It really helps me stay warm!

I know that 52 sounds warm, but with a cold north wind blowing at 20 to 30 mph, it is not going to feel very warm. I went walking the other morning when it was 25 degrees and it was nice, but the wind wasn't blowing. I hate it when the wind blows!

That is some tough work @sgbrown especially when you do have to deal with whatever Mother Nature has in store.

Quite often the wind is worse than the cold.

I would much rather have to work in 25 degree weather with NO wind, than 50 and a strong north wind!
