Random Word Post – gyve

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “gyve – Usually plural. A shackle, esp. for the leg.” The pronunciation for this is jiv, but it does seem more complicated than just saying a leg shackle. The odd thing is, I went on to type up a few more of these Random Word Posts, and when I scrolled back to the top, I had the feeling that I had seen gyve before. I don’t know if it was just from the few minutes earlier when I typed it up, or if my brain chugged along enough to go, “I think I remember seeing that.”

I searched for the meaning of this word on the internet and found it on Meriam Webster. Whats nice is that not only the definition is provided but also how its pronounced and some words that rhyme with gyve --- chive , clive, dive, live, shrive, skive, strive, thrive, wive --- Thanks again @oneoveralpha
