Chicken Salad

I love to make chicken salad sandwiches and was just checking on the Net for some different ways of doing it. I came across the site of "The Pioner Woman" and on it she did have a chicken salad recipe. But what was different was that she added grapes to her recipe. First time I have ever heard about adding some grapes to a chicken salad. Not my cup of tea at all. Are you in the habit of adding grapes to your chicken salad?

@Marilynda1225 Believe me, it's really good. I usually use Fuji apples, because they are crisp and juicy and sweet. Grannie Smith apples are good also.

Oooh, don't know if I would like the grapes in there either. I like hard boiled eggs in mine but I know some that like to cut up pickles for theirs.

I love Grapes in chicken salad, also add pecans. The other day, I didn't have any grapes but added some dried cranberries, and that was good as well.

@Marilynda1225 Green or red, but make sure they are the seedless kind. You don't want to be crunching down on seeds.

Nope never heard that or tried putting grapes in our chicken salad, grapes are a little bit expensive here ( no problem if it would make a lot of difference) It's just not that available whole year round

Nope and I dont even make chicken salad. It sounds a good idea though Marlina. Yum! I do not think that grapes is a good addition, but each to their own I suppose.

I can't it it due to the mayo, but if I could I'd add grapes and pecans. I put grapes in my tossed salad. Grapes so with lots of things.

That might not taste bad. I would not reject it without trying it. There are some things, I would respond no way, but that still sounds edible.

I had it and loved it. The chicken salad was light and fluffy and very slightly sweet, served on a croissant. It's different from 'what I call' a traditional chicken salad but it was truly delightful. I see the grapes as no different from the sweet relish that people often use in otherwise savory dishes such as potato salad and tuna salad.

@marlina learned that from my sister and surprisingly the sweetness of the apple/pear blended well.

I am not all that fond of chicken unless it is organic, but yes, I do like grapes alongside my chicken in a salad. It mixes it all up a bit and I prefer grape to chicken anyway. Now my mother makes this dish which involves crisps on top of a chicken fricassee. She thinks this is a treat, but my whole family thinks it is just plain odd.
