Have you taken a metered taxi before?

After I left court today,my foot hurt so bad I wanted a taxi. I had $20 left for the week and as willing to spend it. I was in another town that I normally don't be in. All the taxi's were metered. I knew I could not afford that taxi fare. I walked in that big mound of snow and made it to the bus stop. I took that 7 bus to the 55 in my town and then stopped at micky d's for lunch. Adrain was looking for me and I was late for the mall. I told him to sit in my chair and he was right on time to save me from being in trouble for not opening up on time. For a treat I bought him lunch and he was starving. Here the taxi costs $5 to go most places in town. I will not take a metered cab.

That is a lot. I think from the city to the airport they do have a set rate and it is quite a bit, maybe $60

Here you have no choice as all the cabs have to follow the same milage rates and now there is a battle with Uber coming in trying to take business as they say they don't have to follow what cabs have to follow as they are "ride share" and not cabs

Some people had huge charges on their credit card after using Uber on New Years Eve here. They charge a lot more when the demand is high.

So true. Here it is 2.00 just to get in the cab and go the first1/9th of a mile and then 25 cents for each 1/9th of a mile and that don't include wait time fare if you get stop at a traffic light or for a train if the driver has it on.

I have a car so mostly I use my car but when I want to commute I prefer riding a bus or jeepney because I have always been frugal.

All cabs (taxis in Australia) are metered and very expensive. Uber is now becoming more popular throughout the country to bring the cost down.

Well glad you made it there without costing a fee for being late. I hate walking in the snow if i don't have too but we do what we can to save money.
