Something to ponder

If you were an explorer from a few centuries ago and you discovered an uninhabited island, what would you say after wading ashore? I’ve thought about this for a while, and I think what I say would depend on what kind of island it was. If it was just a bit of sand and a palm tree, I’d probably just curse. If it was a proper island, I’d probably just be glad to get off the boat. Instead of making a big speech, I’d probably just clap my hands and go, “Well, we’re here. Let’s go explore.”

Well I'd probably just go slowly, make very little noise since we are not really that sure if it's uninhabited, might encounter some hostile natives. I'd also probably see to it that provisions are ready and the weapons are in working condition, yes carry something to barter in case someone wants to make friends.
