Well earlier this evening I got a phone call from my daughters' school saying the rest of this week there will be no school. We are still in a state of emergency from all of this snow we just got a few days back. She is a bit bummed out because she really wanted to go to school on her Birthday on Thursday. I know it's so sad! she will be 5 and this is her first year in preschool so it's a big deal to her. So this makes us going on day 4 of no school. They had school off naturally on Thursday because of the storm starting and she doesn't have school on Friday's. Monday was closed, today was closed, tomorrow, Thursday and Friday will be closed. Well baby girl mommy will find something for us to do on your birthday that will be fun and I"m sure when you go back to school the teachers will have something fun for you.

Perhaps if you have access to the teacher's numbe you could have her to give your daughter a call on her birthday.

Oh, you must live close to the East Coast. I am in Ohio and though my son got a couple snow days, mostly due to the frigid cold than snow, he is coming home early today because of a water break at the building. Of course, my son being an 8th grader, loves it when he has no school, but I do remember when he was little he was also sad, like your little girl.

She was sad but she understands. Daddy to her if he can drive the buses then she can't go to school because it's not safe. She had fun with me babysitting she got to see the girl I wanted and they did some girly things together before we did some stuff this evening.

Better safe than sorry. There are a lot of things to do indoors. You have to be creative in doing so.

I had to babysit today so we didn't get to do anything to fun. Made cookies, had dinner out, then ice cream. But yes better safe then sorry. Those mountains of snow make it hard to drive.

The kiddos just do not understand safety. To them snow is such fun.

its not that she doesn't understand because she does get it. she is 5 not 2. She understands many things don't take the age of a child and say then don't get it cause many do get it. yes the snow is fun but we only played in for one day.

Happy Birthday to your daughter. She can enjoy the B'day party in school after the leave. Safety comes first.

@ShyBear88 I can understand that. What with food allergies and some families being able to afford more than others, it can be difficult. I hope she had a good day anyway.

@Marcyaz probably not the whole time. But she had fun today helping me bake the cake I just finished decorating it since I waiting till the kids went to bed. I think she had more fun just playing around with people she loves and likes.
