Ear Wax Removal Stainless Steel Stick

Hopefully you did not just eat, but this evening I will be talking about ear wax removal featuring this stainless steal ear wax removal stick. For as long as I remember growing up as a child until now (guilty!) , My mom would clean my ear with this stick once a month. In addition, I would use a q-tip daily to clean my ears. Even though the q-tip has a warning that use for your ear shouldn't be allowed, thats how I always cleaned my ears and have experienced no problems. I am not sure if the stick is an Asian culture aspect but I'm curious on your thoughts? It feels really good to have my ear cleaned. But, I will never poke myself personally or anyone else though as it can be dangerous if you go too far into your ear canal. Can you relate to the stainless steel stick? Or do you use those over the counter ear wax solutions? Somehow in a group chit chat with friends about not hearing well? I asked if they cleaned their ears and they had no clue on how to. And once a guy at my old work had an ear ache and went to the doctors on site - turned out he had so much ear wax, he brought it back to show it. It was disgusting though. P.S. Sorry, if I made anyone puke! Just curious on your thoughts about ear wax and good health hygiene! I've used Q-tips for years for ears. I did have a doctor say that using them defeated the purpose of getting the wax out as it pushes the wax further into the ear. He used a rubber bulb that filled with water and squirted the water in my ears to get the wax out. That's the safest way and you're not poking something in your ears.

For me having any sort of water in my ear is such an annoyance. Sometimes when I can't get water out of my ear fast enough from swimming or showering - I can get a headache or ear ache. I try to avoid any liquids into my ear but I know my boyfriend uses an over the counter ear wax removal solution and he has no problems. He uses q-tips too but once a month he'd use the ear wax removal.Even though the doctor stated q-tips would push the wax further, do you still use q-tips, hehe?

@infatuatedbby No. If you tilt your head so the water runs out, you won't have that problem.

@just4him I try as much as possible to not get water in my ear. I try the tilt and it never works. I have to literally use the palm of my hand as like a suction and press against my ear very tightly and try to pump water out when I have water in my ear, lol.

I am using q tip to clean my ears. Sometimes, i use a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to clean it. It feels great actually. I think I have to do it again later. Have you tried that And about the metal stick, yes, we had been using that before.

I have never used hydrogen peroxide before but when my boyfriend ran out of his ear wax removal solution, he has tried hydrogen peroxide as a subsititution and told me it worked too! I would try it, but I don't like any water in my ear, it makes my ear very irritating but I'm glad it works for you! I use the q-tip daily after showering. And the metal stick, I love it, but only once a month or so only.

@brokenbee Oh! I thought from the hot water, it'd be best to clean your ears after showering? I did not know the hydrogen peroxide can prevent from colds ~ that is great. Thank you for sharing!

@infatuatedbby yes, it really works and some dirt are flushed when the hydrogen peroxide is flushed out. Some claim that the use of this prevents them from having colds. My sister told me before not to use q tips after shower. She said I may use it before taking shower.

It says to gently use q-tips, and not in your ear canal.

I actually grew up using that since my mother taught us how to use it . It is a nice feeling to clean my ears with that . However , i have to limit my use of that since i started having vertigo a year ago . The doctor said it could be because of that which affected a part in my ear causing my vertigo . And since i limited using that , i hardly have vertigo anymore .

My mom never taught me how to use the stick, but I have tried before and never again. I clean my ear with the stick like once a month only and q-tips after showers. Did you get any symptoms when you had vertigo? I hope all is better now you don't use it. Did you frequently use the stick to clean your ear and that caused it do the doctors know.

@SIMPLYD I sometimes can't control the nice feeling also but my mom said only once or twice a month max. I am glad to hear you are doing better from the vertigo. Hopefully you fully heal from it.

@infatuatedbby Yes, before i would always use it on my ears even if there isn't any was anymore since i do it so frequently . Now , i rarely have vertigo anymore , because i rarely use it already . But you know it's a nice feeling when it's in my ears trying to look for wax.

Ear wax is there for a reason and if anyone has too much of it they should see a doctor. I accidentally pushed a bobby pin into my ear drum when I was a teen, so I avoid sticking anything in my ears.

That's the part of body if infected causes saviour pain and I am the victim of it. So I don't touch my ear now after being cleaned up by ENT specialist.

It looks a modern was to clean up the ear wax. But I think it is not advisable to use this kind of tool. It could result to ear infection. All I know, an earwax device is used to suck out this and the safest way to remove the impacted ear wax.

I've already lost my other ear because of wax removal on my own, now i can't hear on that hear. I won't risk loosing another one and totally become deaf. not sure if the doctor who once treated my ear is still alive, but i may need to have some one clean my ear soon

Oh no! How did you remove your ear wax by yourself? Or do you get your ears professionally cleaned? When they clean it how does the process work though?

@infatuatedbby I do not put water in my ears too. The wax removal I use, it's an oily solution and I only need a little drop, it's not disturbing.

I don't think we should put anything hard and metal into our ears. I wouldn't even use a Q-tip. I think excessive was removal probably stimulates wax production as I've never had any problems.

I use the metal ear picker often. I have harvested ear wax the size of (though not shaped like) a coin. I'm proud.

@infatuatedbby Michelle, The ear, nose and throat doctor prefers that I go to him. It takes chick chock and he is done and then go back in another 3 or 4 months.
