Do You Kindle?

Recently I purchased a kindle pad from amazon on sale and I have filled it with many good books. I never would of thought that I would pick up the good habit of reading books again like I onced used to when I was in middle school. Im currently reading The Stranger by Harlan Coben and its a must read of mystery, thriller, and suspense. I also put all my favorite Goosebumps so I my kids can read them one day as well and a few classics like The Outsiders and Stephen Kings Dream Catcher. I am super happy with my kindle and im enjoying reading new books every week! Do you kindle?

I don't kindle, I prefer an actual book in my hands. My husband has an app on his phone that allows him to read from that device. Happy reading!

@BACONSTRIPSXXX my kids would do that when they were little and it would drive me crazy...but it certainly beat them coloring on the walls LOL

@juliaacv I prefer an actual book too but I got a Kindle for my birthday so now I have the best of both worlds. Sometimes you can get a Kindle version of a book much cheaper than the actual hardcover/paperback book.

I just got a Kindle for my birthday and am starting to download some books. So far I've been looking at the free ones (can't beat free) but I do love Harlan Coben and have most of his books in hardcover. I'm sure once I get into downloading books I'll be happy with it.

I read a lot of free books, too! I've had my kindle 3 years I think (maybe 4 even). I think I've spent about $75 on kindle books during that time. I've read well over 100 free books on my kindle during that time, though.

I have a first generation kindle fire. But I rarely use it anymore. I usually read on my phone, if I'm not reading an actual paper book. I have a fire phone, so the kindle app works really well. Haha. I do a pretty good mix of both paper books and electronic ones. My son is almost ten. I prefer for him to still read paper books, just because I think that's better for him right now, but he has quite a few on kindle too, for when he is allowed to have screen time. Mainly when we are in the car a long time. We're running out of room for books in our house though! Haha. We have six tall bookcases filled with books already.

I don't have a Kindle. But if I want to buy one, I will buy the most simple one since the black and white will be more like a real book. And I assume it will be better for the eyesight rather than reading from the colorful tablet. Besides, its price is not expensive. If you enjoy reading, Kindle is always a good gift.

I have a kindle as well but haven't picked it up in awhile. Reading is one of my favorite things to do when I want to relax. It took me awhile before I got a kindle, I just wasn't sure if I'd like it or not. I love it and might upgrade to a better one soon.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I just wanted to tell I put Harlan Coben's The Stranger on hold from the Overdrive (NC Digital Library) and it came available last night. I'm writing it this morning on my Kindle app and it's so good. It reminds me a little bit of Gone Girl. Thanks for posting about it.

I don't have a Kindle device, but I have Kindle on my computer. I have been getting e-books through my library and they have a option where you get the e-books on kindle. I have added Coben to my wishlist on the library.

I do. I used to be a stickler for only buying 'real' books, but I tend to collect them. Once I started working towards decluttering our apartment, I realized that it's the contents of most books that matter to me, not the format. I've been donating and selling a lot of books since I came to that realization and picking up the Kindle editions of the ones I want to read again. Pretty much the only ones I'm keeping are the "important" ones, like the books that Jim Butcher has autographed for me at his signings and an autographed limited collector's edition from Subterranean Press. The ones with stories beyond the stories they contain, in other words.

Yes, I'm a Kindle user. I'm still using the first-generation Paperwhite. I hope I'll be able to afford a replacement soon. I've heard that the latest model is good.
