I was in the fourth grade. We were at lunch in the cafeteria and they made an announcement. The teachers tried to quiet us down, and they heard what the announcement was, but us kids were too noisy. It wasn’t until we got back to the classroom that we found out what happened. I think we were supposed to watch a video that day, so we had a TV on a cart in the room, and the teacher turned the news on.

I was in high school - in a word processing class - sitting across from this guy that I liked. The announcement came over the PA from the principal about the Challenger. The guy and I just looked at each other with our mouths wide open - that was a complete shockeroo!
