I am not sure how things are in your state or country. But in my state we are just now in the process of our cops deciding on weather or not it is a good idea for our cops to have body cameras. Being that the country has had a lot of crimes against cops, I know cops having cameras is becoming a larger issue. Or at least it is here. But here it is a controversy. As it might be elsewhere, but I am trying to understand why. I am guessing it is because of the money issues, maybe a privacy issue, I am not 100% sure. But in my opinion, I think cops should have these body cameras. There's always two sides of every story, and these cameras will easily make both these sides known. What is your opinion of cops having body cameras? Are you against it or are you for it? Does your area already have them?

I'm not sure about the UK if they do or don't at the moment however I think it's a good idea. I think it's a good idea because it would be video evidence which is very important.

@kevin1877uk Even here in this town there is so much going down with who to believe the cop or the civilian. It's crazy.

I think they should as well, as to whether our does I'm unsure. I do think they have car cams though.

Cool. I am not sure if all cop cars have cams, but I always thought they did. I could be wrong

I agree, there is always two sides of the story - so if funding and everything goes great ~ I am a go for the cameras!

@T_gray Regardless of the funding ~ in the long run it'd be a good investment because without these cameras, they're so many lawsuits!

I know there is funding. I think they are being frugal with the money which i get. But i don't know for sure what else is stopping them. I need to keep watching the news

I like the idea @T_gray . Cops are needing the proof of the idiocy that's going on. Car cams were a huge plus so I think the body cams will be extremely helpful. I know in the Ft. Worth/Dallas area it is a question of cost.

@T_gray Well they could outfit the guys that work in the toughest areas first and then outfit the rest; as money allows.

I think that's another thing they are talking about here. What the new Chief of police is going to do with the budget. There's money, but what to do with it, ya know

I guessed its better that they should have body cameras, it would help them in their police work but in our country where almost everybody has a cellphone with camera, including the cops, it might not be necessary anymore

@T_gray Yes, they should be always ready to function well as necessary. Very popular now in our country is the CCTV posted almost everywhere, in the streets, offices, businesses and even at home, and very effective in curbing crime.

I don't know if they have them here or not but it would be helpful if someone lied about a police man and he had proof what they said was not correct.

I'm right there with you. I think the cameras will show the real story. So important in so many states. I lived in Kansas for years, started in college and when married we lived in Kansas, all over the state.
