I Want To Be a Vlogger

There are so many things I want to do but am limited by time and, in this case, equipment. I have subscribed to a few vlogs on YouTube and really enjoy them. I was "Life With Jackie" who is Howie Mandel's daughter; The Secret Life of Vivian; and Scorpio's Corner. I don't have the proper camera for vlogging. I could try with the one I have but my laptop won't recognize it for some reason so would have to download to the PC in the basement, which is okay I guess. But with my camera I can't see what I'm filming so wouldn't know if I'm in the screen. The other options are the cell phone (meh) or just sit and do a webcam taping summing up my week. Obviously it would be fibromyalgia based but I'd certainly talk about other things. But I want to write my books too. And I have a family to look after. I just can't do it all. I don't know whether to try this vlogging thing or not. The other vloggers have encouraged me to do so. Vlogging is the REAL reality television. A perk is that the more subscribers you get, the more popular you get, and the more popular get the more fan mail you get as well as free stuff from companies. Watching Jackie open her mail is fun. Her fans are always sending her cards and presents. I should check with the fibromyalgia community and see if they would watch my vlog if I did one.

I've never heard of vlogging and don't really understand what it is.

@patgalca Thanks for explaining that. I guess I should have been able to work it out. :) I hope you get time to vlog at some point.

My best friend vlogs. She does it from her tablet and edits on her computer. I really don't know how she does it honestly. I wouldn't have the patience to do it myself. The editing and all that. But she enjoys and and i like watching it. She's only just begun so she isn't all that popular yet. But I know with a little work she will get there. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I wouldn't know the first thing about editing but all I've spoken to enjoy it. My daughter edited a video once. Maybe when she comes home for Reading Week she can show me how.

Video blogs are really interesting ideas for blogs nowadays and gears us away from the boredom that some blogs offers. However, it would be necessary to have a reliable cable broadband at home to be able to suffice your needs as a vlogger. Thanks for that. Not sure I'm going to do it anyway. It's one of those things you see and admire and want to do... like being in a movie musical. LOL!

It does take a lot of equipment but I think it's worth it. A lot of the vloggers I watch use a go pro or their iphones. It's all about what is more cost effective for you. Getting a following is important as well. Good Luck.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Vloggers support one another and encourage their followers to follow the others. That's how I found the other two. Howie Mandel got me watching his daughter's. He's in it a lot and Jackie's daughter is the cutest little 16 month old you'll ever see.

I think it's better to have some professional guidance to get into making videos and editing.

For vlogging it's enough to use your smartphone camera. In my city many are doing vlogging using iPhone and one plus x smartphone.

Yeah I agree with this. In my state, many are doing vlogging using their iphones.
