The All American Hamburger

We all know what this is. We have all grilled them in the summertime and arms even grill them in the winter time. This is really an all american favorite. Alongside the Hotdog, Hamburgers are the number one grilled meat for summer BBQ’s and parties. Without a doubt. Some people grill them plain, others add onion or mushrooms or whatever they want. Some like them well done, others like them either medium well to medium rare. Burgers are the number one go to for dinner or lunch or just anytime at all. Hamburgers are so popular that every supermarket sells them in the frozen section. Ready made, ready to grill. I have tried some of the different brands of frozen hamburgers. I tried the Bubba burgers. Not bad, but very greasy and they fall apart. Not for me. I have also tried the Steak-Umm ones. They are actually better than the Bubba burgers. They stay together and are not as greasy. And, by the way, I like the Steak-umms also. But the ultimate burger is a fresh burger. Nothing compares to a real, grade a beef burger grilled on the grill and juicy. I have a place by me, a real good butcher that is, that has excellent ground beef and they make their own burgers ready to be grilled. They have mushroom and bacon. They have cheddar and onion. And other burgers made different ways. I love them all. I make my own also. I mainly like them plain, but every once in awhile I like a nice stuffed one. I always have cheeseburgers. Those are my favorites. And burgers go beyond a traditional hamburger. They have the little ones we call sliders. They are equally as awesome. And taste just as good. They are great for kids, kids love them. And for everyone as well. I know some people might consider the Hotdog as the number one food for america, but burgers to me are the best. As long as they are made well. I can no longer eat McDonald’s or Burger King. They are not real meat. Not in my book. I have had Five Guys and they are awesome. I have yet to try SmashBurger. I heard they are good as well. But making your own, you make it the way you like it. And nothing compares to that. There are so many places/options to get that burger (oh but the prices to get them aren't any cheaper). If we have the time, we just get some ground beef and make them ourselves. Just pure beef with nothing in added to it - and cooked in a pan. Our friends say if you get some good quality meat and grind it up yourself (or butcher like you said), it's even better.

I agree. I like only one place for burgers on the outside. That is 5 Guys. But I prefer to make them at home. I will agree with that.

I LOVE cheddar cheeseburgers--I am constantly is search of the best one. While the 5 Guys were okay the Smashburgers were so. Here is a picture of the burger I had Wednesday at The Quarterdeck--a local restaurant! Pretty good!

Looks good. I never tried SmashBurger yet. I heard they are good. Right now though, I like the 5 Guys. For fast food, they are the best I think. But there is nothing like a real homemade one. After all, we can make then anyway we want to.

For some reason I can no longer eat hamburgers from a hamburger joint as they make my stomache upset.

I hate the McDonald's now and the Burger King. The 5 Guys make a good burger. They use real fresh meat. But I like them homemade.

Oh yeah. The butcher. They make awesome burgers. They are not cooked. You have to cook them, but they have them stuffed with different things. And all fresh ground beef.

@Drosophila I know the feeling. I am always on a diet because of my diabetes. So I do have to watch what I eat. But I can still have a burger without a bun. Nothing wrong with that.

One of my all time favorite things about the summer is grilling. I can grill almost every night. And burgers is always a good choice. A nice burger with fresh meat is the best in my book. With cheese for sure.

See, I knew it. We all love burgers. I love mine fresh also. And also with cheese. And what I like about grilling burgers, they cook fast so it is way easy to enjoy our backyard parties.

I love a good burger! I like to fix mine a few different ways. What we call a Carolina burger has mustard, onions, chili sauce and cole slaw. It is one of my favorites. The other is a nice burger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, bread and butter pickles on a lightly toasted onion bun. Now I am craving burgers!!!

Nice!!! I like mine only with cheese. But sometimes I make them with other fixings on them. It all depends on my mood I guess.

Believe it or not ,I stop short of asking "Isn't the Hamburger the sandwich?",to be honest ,I can't tell hamburger from sandwich, because I hardly eat the western-style food .

They're quite popular over here, too! We tend to make our own these days because it's healthier than shop bought. Never tried Five Guys, but we do have one locally. They seem very expensive for what they are.

They are pricey. But they are well worth the money. Believe me on that one. Your mouth waters just holding those burgers.

I tried the Bubba Burgers. I like them but there are two things about them that annoy me. One is they are way too greasy. Second thing is that they always fall apart when I cook them.
