S'more Brownies With a Preschooler

This afternoon I enlisted the help of a three year old to make something I had seen on Facebook. S'more brownies sounded like something we would enjoy. I googled the recipe. Quite a few variations were offered. One thing that disappointed me, every recipe used a brownie mix. I have nothing against a mix, but really. It doesn't get much easier than baking brownies. With no mix on hand I used my own brownie recipe as the base and then used the Nestle recipie to finish. These things are good.

They really were not hard to make. The preschooler helped me. The hardest part was waiting for this to cool down.

That does look nice! I blew the photo up. Do you cut it into pieces or is that one serve? (Don't laugh!)

The picture shows the uncut 9x13 brownie, waiting to be cut. I cut it into 32 pieces. It is yummy....kind of messy, but yummy.

I looked at several recipes. You'd think that at least one would have been totally from scratch.mi usually have a cake mixin the cupboard, for emergencies.

Sounds good. I have two brownie mixes waiting to be made right now. I want to eat them, but I don't want to get away from my computer to make them, so there they sit.

@Morleyhunt Nope. I probably won't be making the smore ones anytime soon. Maybe when I have grandchildren. And, I've not made the other two boxes of brownies yet either. I thought about making them for today, but it's low-key for us. I bought a small heart cake instead. Much easier and faster.

They were very good and just as messy to eat as s'mores made over a campfire.

It is always on the menu when camping. This summer we had a bonfire in our back yard complete with marshmallows and all the fixings to make s'mores.

They look awesome. These days almost no one makes scratch brownies which is a shame since they are easy to make.

I think I'm the only person on the planet that neither likes s'mores not brownies. I'm glad you had a good time though.

I suffer in the summer when everyone serves melon, any kind of melon. I can stomach the teeniest piece to be polite. After that one bite and my stomach kicks into reverse. Nothing polite about that. Yet I am constantly informed, but everyone likes watermelon.
