How's the weather where you are?

We had some more rain yesterday, which surprised me. They were saying we (in the San Francisco Bay Area) wouldn't have more until Wednesday or so. Today, it's sunny and cool, with temperatures hovering right around 50 F. This alternating moderate rain and sunshine is perfect for my slow peas, which are doing well on my balcony, at the preschool in Berkeley, and even at the Ground Squirrel Garden at work. I'll attach a picture of my balcony snow peas as of a couple of days ago. The longest "vines" are over two feet long now. How's the weather where you are? Is anything growing?

How does 36 degrees celsius sound to you? We are on 1st of February, 2016 and the temperature is around that...normally it is not this hot.

@vandana7 Is it so hot? I cannot believe that it is so hot. You told him about maximum temperature not about average temperature and minimum temperature. As on today, the minimum temperature in Hyderabad was around 19 degree C, which means that mornings and nights are pleasant.

We had a nice snowstorm last night. I had to help the neighbor cover up her sprouting irises yesterday so they wouldn't freeze. We got enough to make the roads utterly miserable, and the local schools called a snow day so the kids get a long weekend. And if that wasn't enough, my husband and I have a snow day too because our boss decided that we weren't going to open the store today.

Yeah, I saw elsewhere that you really would have rather gone in, as there are projects to do. I don't like missing work either.

@TheHorse I'm lucky that I'm a bit behind on my online learnings, so I get to put in time from home catching up on those today. It's pretty convenient, actually.

It's only 58 F today at about 3:00 pm. The sun is shinning and it is gorgeous outside, but very windy still. I raked up three grocery bags of leaves from my little courtyard. I had no other damage from the 70+ mph winds. I did, however, lose a small American flag that I had forgotten to take inside before the storms. It's probably in Big Bear now.

Well, I reckon they need a bit more patriotism up at Big Bear. Glad you didn't suffer too much damage.

@TheHorse I wonder where it really ended up. Big Bear is actually east of me, but it probably was snagged on a tree somewhere between here and there.

Weather here is still cold. The chill had went down in last couple of days but I am not holding breathe. Temperature could fall again.

@TheHorse - Who said it is ungodly hot? In coastal cities of India, weather generally remains moderate throughout the year (not ungodly hot). However, now a days nowhere heat waves is going on. It is winter in North of India, which will be followed by spring.

Come on, it's Kansas. It will be about three months before we can put the earliest stuff out. I want to plant some seeds to have ready, though.

We had four or five lovely days of sunshine and blue skies. Then yesterday it turned gloomy. Grey and rainy. Now to day it is blue and sunny again.

It's still too cold to grow anything here. We don't plant anything that could be hurt by frost until the very end of May most years. It's been fairly warm recently, it's about 34 or so right now. We even reached the 40s on Saturday I believe. That may be cool for you, but for the end of January that is actually really warm for us.

@TheHorse Not usually. My cat likes to eat anything green and tiny, so most sprouts don't stand a chance inside.

Glad you're having good weather for your 'slow peas'. (You got it right second time). I checked the pumpkins and watermelons yesterday and I think they should have been allowed to go outside the tank they're in. Some of the fruit is pushing up against the sides. Maybe I'll end up with square ended melons.

@TheHorse That's one reason we chose this area to retire to. There is plenty of water and the climate isn't so hot in summer.

It's warm and sunny at my house today. Of course that's relative. It's 30 degrees, which would probably be way too cold for many on here. But it's warm in North Dakota. ;) We don't plant until around memorial day here. Around Easter we'll start seedlings. But nothing until then, except the mint we grow in the window year round.
