This little post is for all the folks that are confused and wondering. This little guy with a towel on his back is Peter. Peter burro. (Spanish for donkey.) I snapped this photo last year. I had not known Peter long. I was curious to see how tame he was. Would he accept something on his back? Would he have a tantrum? He had accepted the halter nicely so on to the next step. You can see that he did not care. I have no idea how old Peter is. I suspect he is a grandfather in age but I really don't know. Peter does tell me loud and clear that somebody hit him. I am very slow and easy with him when I have something like a shovel near him cause he tries to run away when he sees a long object like a shovel. Poor guy.

Ah Peter the burro, when we lived in Oklahoma one of our neighbors at the end of the street had a burro and my dogs liked to walk down there and see the burro.

@sallypup It is a cute memory and the burro was not afraid of the dogs.

@marcyaz That's a cute memory. My Mom enjoyed Peter when she lived here.

@Marcyaz When our dogs or even cats get too close to Peter he ducks his head at them in a threatening way. Pete had a chunk of carrot the other day. Our Siamese boy wandered over. Pete warned him that he had best not come very close or he would get what for!

If you were in the UK I'd have assumed it was a pun on the town Peterborough which is pronounced that way.
