MyLot Payment Question

United States

Do we get paid for responding or commenting? I know that we get paid if we begin a discussion and others comment, like or respond to our discussion. But what if I respond, like or comment or someone else's discussion. Do i also earn something then? I can not figure it out.

@bostonphil in this new myLot you are not paid for what you do, but what others do. So, you are earning now because I am responding. If @Mike197602 would comment on my response here, I believe I would earn. If you come back, and comment on this response, then @Mike197602 comments on your comment, you would earn. The reason you should make plenty of responses and comments is that it gives others a platform to interact with you so you will earn. That and it is just fun to have a visit.

I believe it also counts likes and page views as forms of interaction, although I'm not completely positive about that.

I'll have a go at answering With NEW mylot we are paid for how people interact with our posts. A post is a started discussion, response or comment. On old mylot we were paid for what WE wrote...that has changed. I'll try to find some links that'll explain it better than I can

@Mike197602 also this is what mylot say "How much can I earn with each discussion, response or comment? - This all depends on how interesting and valuable the myLot community considers it. The more that other myLot users interact with what you post, the more money it will make. If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything."

Everything that you post (which includes discussions, responses and comments) has the potential of earning something for you but if nobody interacts with what you post, it will very likely earn nothing. You do NOT earn anything for interacting with others unless they interact with your responses or comments.

@Mike197602 It's a soft way of saying 'almost certainly won't earn anything significant' - i.e. a very small fraction of a cent, if anything!

Must admit I find the word likely a bit annoying...maybe xxx will earn or maybe it won't. I wish they'd be a bit more specific.

Things have changed since the old mylot, as now, we only get paid for what others do on our posts, and we on theirs. The more interaction you do, the more you can earn. If you don't do much then you won't earn all that much. It is what the others have said, and that is it all depends on you and how much you do. If you want to earn, then interact as much as you can, and you will see your earnings grow.

Any post that you make is eligible to earn. Whether or not it earns is determined by how other members interact with it. Posts that receive more interaction from other members are considered more valuable by the algorithm, and the earnings from them will be higher than those for a post that doesn't receive much interaction.

that's a good way of putting it Anything we post has potential to earn but requires other peoples interaction to actually do so.

I don't find pictures mentioned anywhere. I would like to know whether they earn for us too as I have many that I would use here.

we don't get paid for any articles or comments we make ourselves or discussions we start but for other people's comments and likes to our actions - we need to respond back or few would reciprocate

I think we earn little when we respond or comment others post.

I guess we earn too when we comment to others posts because my earnings increased after commenting a lot on others.

I'm not completely sure, I know you earn from comments received and discussions posted, that is my understanding. the more interacting you do, the more you earn.
