Saturday Mornings

United States

I have often wondered what people do on Saturday morning in all parts of the world. Some people sleep in. Some people have to go to work. Some people are actually just going to bed after working all night. What is the craziest thing you have ever done on a Saturday morning? Did you go sky diving or scuba diving? Did you fly to another country? Did you go to start your vacation? Did you visit relatives? When I was in the jewelry business, Saturday mornings, for me, often involved a sales meeting or setting up a jewelry display at a Fair or a Craft Show. Now that I’m retired, all my Saturday mornings are FREE to do whatever I want. Tell me about your Saturday mornings. What do you usually do on a Saturday morning? Do you work in your garden? Do you have the luxury of sleeping in? Is Saturday a day for your kids and family? I’m looking for the most unusual story. This weekend for me, my oldest son and his wife will be arriving from North Carolina, to visit. My youngest son, will be hosting a Super Bowl Party on Sunday for the whole family, here at the house. We should have at least 15 people coming. My job is to make pepperoni rolls, so I will be going to the grocery store tomorrow to get what I need to make them and I will make them on Saturday. Everyone else is bringing food also, so Sunday should be a fun day. Saturday we can visit and we might go out to eat. It's been pouring down the rain ALL DAY today and I'm on my way to bed right now. It's still raining so I should be able to sleep well.

Nothing crazy about Saturday mornings here. If it were warm weather I might go wander the property. Being that its winter I hope to be able to sleep in a little this coming Saturday then probably heading to town for groceries. If its decent and above zero and cruddy snow, we plan to take the pups out for a town excursion. We'll also have a Mexican lunch while we are out. Sleeping in even for a couple of minutes will be great.

@IreneVincent We're still at the stage where hubby works. I wish we could shop in the middle of the week like that.

@sallypup It's so much better to shop during the week. Saturdays are so crazy at the stores. Way too crowded for me.

Now we've retired our Saturdays aren't much different from other days. When we were working we only ever slept in a little as we usually had lots of 'projects' we wanted to get on with on the weekends. Hope you have a great time on Sunday.

That's the way it is for me since I've retired. I love to sleep in because I love to stay up late. My biggest project right now, which I work on every day is emptying my "home office" of everything that was connected to my home business that I had for almost 40 years. It's quite a project.
